Domiciliary care is the delivery of a range of personal care and support services to clients in their own home. The care delivered can range from a 1- hour service to 24 hour live- in care
This care may be funded by the state or the client receiving the service. In the event that the package is state funded, RMS may receive the payments from the organisation funding the client, or the client may receive direct payments enabling them to fund the care themselves.
To ensure that the package is right, a care plan is drawn up with the client and any health and social care professionals; clearly stating what support is needed and how and when it will be delivered. This plan is reviewed after a week, and then less frequently to ensure it is ideal.
Our domiciliary care support services include personal care, domestic duties and social care.
The services provided under personal care include;
- Personal washing, meeting all personal hygiene needs;
- Assistance with dressing/ undressing;
- Assisting with feeding and meal preparation;
- Monitoring wellness and general welfare;
- Toileting and assisting with continence needs.
Domestic duties include;
- Assisting with all domestic duties;
- Cleaning and upkeep of household;
- Shopping and preparation of meals;
- Promoting safety in the house;
- Running errands and other duties as required.
The social care services we provide include;
- Promoting wellness and independence;
- Liaising with professionals on any prescribed support/ care plans;
- Engaging and participating in social activities;
- Developing life skills;
- Promoting person centred care/ support.
Formal reviews are conducted every quarter. A meeting is arranged with the client to ensure that our staff are delivering services to the agreed standard. Feedback is collated via monitoring forms and questionnaires. Random spot checks are conducted with the consent of the customer/client. All staff carry a current identity badge.
